(December-27-2016)

We are in the middle of Christmas season! But still, there are millions of children that remain without their rights to education, health care and protection.

Instead of buying Christmas presents, we are donating money to Plan International this year and appreciating their effort to make our world a better place for affected children. We also want to take this opportunity and thank you all for this year’s cooperation and wish you a joyful holiday and a Happy New Year!

Record load by Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics in Gothenburg

(April-24-2014)

A couple of weeks ago SSL / Höegh had a record load of more than 350 Volvo trucks on one of Höegh Autoliners RoRo vessel from Gothenburg to Middle East and South Africa.

In addition we loaded 75 rolling machines from Volvo Construction Equipment / Kalmar Industries / Konecranes / Dynapac / Atlas Copco and various other customers. The vessel loaded in total 4200 ton / 26000 cbm rolling and static cargo from various customers to Middle East, Caribbean, South Africa and Australia.

One of the units we loaded was a special machine for building railway tracks. The machine - 22 m long / 75 ton- arrived to Gothenburg on railway tracks and was lifted onto 1 x 82” rolltrailers by 2 mobile cranes. This machine will be used in Saudi Arabia for building railway tracks. The machine was loaded onto the vessel by a tugmaster with only a few cm clearance between the vessel and rolltrailer. All according to the plan.

SSL/Höegh can handle all types of cargo from Gothenburg or other ports around the world. The vessels can load cargo up to 27 m long / 5,30 m high / 6,50 m wide / 150 ton heavy. For break bulk cargo we use different rolltrailers depending on the cargo dimensions.

Höegh Autoliners is a leading global provider of Ro/Ro vehicle transportation services. The company operates around 60 PCTCs (Pure Car and Truck Carriers) in global trade systems which are managed from a worldwide network of around 20 offices in four regions. Customers include global manufacturers of new cars, heavy machinery and rolling goods. In 2013, Höegh Autoliners carried about 2 million car equivalent units (ceu) and made over 3500 port calls.

Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics act as agent for Höegh Autoliners in Sweden and Norway. SSL/Höegh offer bi-weekly sailings from Gothenburg to destinations in Middle East, Far East, Africa, Australia, Caribbean and U.S.A. Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics, Sweden merges with Neptumar AB

(October-08-2013)

Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics AB, owned by the Swedish transport group Greencarrier AB, has merged with Neptumar AB, which is owned by the German transport group Menzell & Döhle. The new company will operate under the name of Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics AB with offices in Gothenburg and Norrköping.

Joachim Lagerstedt, managing director of Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics AB, says the new company will be able to offer a wider range of services and products to its customers.

“Our merger with Neptumar in Sweden and the coming cooperation with the Menzell & Döhle group in Germany is a very important step in the development of Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics,” he says.

The greatest strength for the new Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics AB is its representation of more liner agencies to cover a wider service portfolio. But it will also benefit from further synergies in other fields, including project shipping.

“We are very happy about this new set-up and now get a very strong partner in Menzell & Döhle on the north-west continent. This will create even further great opportunities in the future for continued growth, expansion and development of the business.”

Christoph Tamke, Managing Director, Menzell & Döhle says:

Menzell & Döhle is one of the leading independent liner agents in North Europe, representing about 30 liner companies which operate container, conventional cargo and ro/ro services.

“In partnership with Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics, we will be in a position to offer even better service and transport solutions for all our customers – principals, cargo owners and freight forwarders – in the northern part of Europe,” Mr Tamke adds.

The new company will continue to operate in two locations: Gothenburg with eleven staff and Norrköping with eight staff.

Höegh Trove, worlds first vessel with ballast water treatment system

(June-23-2011)

Höegh Trove - First vessel with OceanSaver Ballast Water Treatment system

On Monday evening, June 20, 2011, the Oceansaver Ballast Water Treatment (BWT) system was successfully commissioned aboard Höegh Trove.

We are proud to announce Höegh Trove as the first vessel in the world to have an operational OceanSaver system installed. The system has been tested onboard Höegh Trove and a second of our vessels over a longer period, and it is now fully operating onboard Höegh Trove.

In the future all vessels will have BWT systems onboard. Until then we continue to apply ballast water management, where the ballast water is shifted many times during a sailing. This to secure that no species is transferred from one ocean to another.
